I just revisited The Curse (1987), and let me tell you… this movie hits different when you’ve actually lived around farms, wells, creeks, and suspiciously murky water. First off — yes, Tellico Plains, Tennessee is real . The credits weren’t lying. And if you’ve ever driven through those winding backroads, you know exactly the kind of quiet, eerie, “something weird could happen here” energy the movie taps into. 💧 Contaminated Water: The Real Monster of the 1980s The Curse is basically a pro‑EPA fever dream. The 1980s LOVED a good “pollution turns everything into mutants” storyline, and this one goes all in.
