Hook, Line and Sinker (1930): Wheeler & Woolsey Reel in the Laughs
If there was ever a comedy team capable of turning complete chaos into comedy gold, it was Bert Wheeler and Robert Woolsey . Their 1930 RKO feature Hook, Line and Sinker is a perfect example of the fast-paced, wisecracking humor that made the duo one of the most popular comedy teams of the early sound era. Directed by Edward F. Cline , the film combines slapstick, romance, gangsters, and plenty of outrageous misunderstandings into one wildly entertaining package.
