“Love, Lies & Lipstick — Behind the Make‑Up”

Behind the Make‑Up peels back the glitter of show business to reveal the bruises underneath. This pre‑Code backstage drama follows a once‑celebrated vaudeville performer whose ego, ambition, and bad decisions collide as fame begins slipping through his fingers. The film moves between smoky dressing rooms, cheap hotel corridors, and the harsh glow of footlights — places where performers paint on confidence even as their personal lives crumble.

At its heart is a story of loyalty tested and love strained. The star’s devoted wife watches him chase illusions of grandeur while a scheming showgirl whispers promises of glamour he can’t resist. The makeup table becomes a battlefield: powder, rouge, and greasepaint hiding insecurity, desperation, and the fear of becoming yesterday’s news.

With its blend of melodrama, backstage grit, and pre‑Code bite, Behind the Make‑Up shows that the real drama isn’t onstage — it’s in the moments when the spotlight fades and the truth comes out.
